Puerto Vallarta is set to welcome a new landmark that will transform its waterfront and enhance its maritime accessibility. Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro recently announced the construction of “Las Peñas” dock, a state-of-the-art facility in the heart of the city’s historic center.
This ambitious project, representing a 430-million-peso investment, aims to improve transportation links for both locals and tourists. While the existing Los Muertos dock serves the southern part of the bay, Las Peñas will cater to the northern route, providing crucial access to the city center for commuters and visitors alike.
Modern Design and Amenities
The 120-meter dock will boast a modern design, featuring concrete and metal structures, a spacious walkway, and an eye-catching ornamental canopy. A viewing platform will offer stunning panoramic views, while pedestrian pathways, benches, and clear signage will ensure a pleasant and user-friendly experience.
Part of a Larger Maritime Vision
Las Peñas is a key component of a broader strategy to enhance maritime connectivity across Jalisco. The state government is investing over 872 million pesos in the development of 12 public docks, with six already completed and six more, including Las Peñas, slated for construction. This network will connect Puerto Vallarta with surrounding communities like Quimixto, Yelapa, and Barra de Navidad, boosting tourism and economic activity throughout the region.
