The Museo del Cuale is located in the craft market of Puerto Vallarta, on the so-called Isla de Cuale. It was opened in December 1978. In 2004 the property and the museography were maintained, and the following year it reopened its doors with a Western Mexican collection, loaned by the regional muses of Guadalajara, Colima and Michoacán.
