La plataforma inmobiliaria internacional\u00a0Far Homes<\/a>\u00a0se asoci\u00f3 con la revista Expats in Mexico para encuestar a\u00a0no mexicanos sobre el coste de la vida en M\u00e9xico<\/a>. Los resultados ofrecen una instant\u00e1nea de los gastos de subsistencia de los extranjeros que se han trasladado al pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La encuesta, realizada en febrero de 2023, se centr\u00f3 principalmente en jubilados mayores de 55 a\u00f1os que viven a tiempo completo en M\u00e9xico y que antes de trasladarse hab\u00edan vivido en Estados Unidos o Canad\u00e1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seg\u00fan Far Homes, que obtuvo sus datos de la base de datos en l\u00ednea Numbeo<\/a>Las ciudades mexicanas se sit\u00faan en la media de las ciudades m\u00e1s populares entre los expatriados de todo el mundo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La mayor\u00eda de los encuestados afirmaron gastar menos de $2.200 al mes en gastos de manutenci\u00f3n (34,3%), mientras que, seg\u00fan datos de 2021 de la Oficina de Estad\u00edsticas Laborales de Estados Unidos, el gasto medio de los hogares jubilados en Estados Unidos es de $4.185 al mes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En cuanto a las ciudades mexicanas con una poblaci\u00f3n considerable de residentes estadounidenses y canadienses, Ciudad de M\u00e9xico (44,62) ocupa el primer puesto en el \u00edndice Numbeo del Coste de la Vida (COL), que se calcula utilizando los precios de los bienes de consumo (comestibles, restaurantes, transporte, servicios p\u00fablicos) y no incluye los gastos de vivienda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Si una ciudad tiene un \u00edndice de coste de la vida de 80, por ejemplo, Numbeo calcula que es 20% m\u00e1s barata que Nueva York (sin contar los gastos de vivienda).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Ciudad de M\u00e9xico le siguen Canc\u00fan (43,14), M\u00e9rida (41,85) y Puerto Vallarta (41,15) en el \u00edndice COL. Quer\u00e9taro y Puebla capital se sit\u00faan en el extremo inferior, con 40,53 y 38,77, respectivamente, mientras que Monterrey es la ciudad m\u00e1s cara de M\u00e9xico, con un \u00edndice del coste de la vida de 45,43, lo que la convierte en la 99\u00aa ciudad m\u00e1s cara de Am\u00e9rica en la base de datos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aunque los gastos de alimentaci\u00f3n de los expatriados que viven en M\u00e9xico son comparables a los de EE.UU., seg\u00fan los datos de la encuesta de Far Homes (71,4% gastan hasta $500 al mes), el ahorro en alquiler y atenci\u00f3n sanitaria contribuye a reducir los gastos generales de manutenci\u00f3n. La mayor\u00eda de los encuestados de Far Homes pagan entre $550 y $1.100 al mes de alquiler, y 62% afirman que s\u00f3lo gastan hasta $110 al mes en atenci\u00f3n sanitaria, incluidos los medicamentos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No es sorprendente que el \"coste de la vida\" fuera una de las principales razones para trasladarse a M\u00e9xico (26,5%), s\u00f3lo superada por el \"estilo de vida\" (32,2%). El \"clima\" qued\u00f3 en un cercano tercer lugar con 24.2% de los encuestados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
